Hovis has two new roles at our Avonmouth site for Mechanical or Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers. 

 

Working with the Engineering Manager and alongside other likeminded engineers and production team members, you will be responsible for the reactive and proactive maintenance of the equipment on the bakery site. 

 

About the role

 

  • You will be responsible for 1st line fault finding on Plant upsets and equipment malfunctions, implementing suitable corrective actions
  • You will undertake corrective maintenance and bench overhaul activities as required
  • You will review and technically validate all CILTs (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Test) generated by the autonomous maintenance team, escalating items that fall outside own skills base and experience, review and authorise Autonomous Maintenance counter measures
  • Raise Tags and undertake appropriate counter measure to eradicate issues
  • You will initiate RCA (Route Cause Analysis) investigations into Plant issues and equipment malfunctions
  • Implement condition based inspections of equipment in distress and determine corrective action plans
  • Participate in PPPM’s and line overhauls as requested by the Shift Manager / Engineering Lead

 

 

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

 

  • Recognised time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with HNC/HND, Engineer Degree or other relevant qualification - Essential 
  • At last 4 years demonstrable experience of maintenance within an automated FMCG / bakery environment - Essential 
  • Experience of welding - Essential 
  • Experience of working with Lathes and Milling machines. - Essential 

 

Desirable

 

  • PLC knowledge
  • 18th Edition Electrical regs

 

This role is a shift role with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. 2 days / 2 nights / 4 off - with a 6am / 6pm shift change time.

 

The salary for this role is starting at £49,000 with an increase of upto 5% once internal assessments completed and passed.

 

Candidate must have the right to work in the UK without the need for a sponsorship visa.
