Hovis have an exciting opportunity as a Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative based at our site in Avonmouth. Reporting to the Supply Chain FLM, the Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative will be responsible for the daily activities within the despatch department, including minimising waste, ensuring orderfill fulfilment of 100%, achieving set targets prior to cut off and achieving objectives set out by the Logistics function.

 

Job Role

  • Encourage teamwork and a supporting environment in order to improve business performance.
  • Always comply with all applicable corporate and legal standards (personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene and environment).
  • Ensure you deliver to target on a shift and weekly basis.
  • Understand the IT systems in use.
  • Work with the Supply Chain FLM to ensure continuous improvement to make year on year improvements versus plans and targets.
  • Work with the Supply Chain FLM to ensure accurate performance reporting for all measures required (site targets, KPI’s, team performance, etc).
  • Monitor staff progress, check flow of products and report any problems/issues to the Supply Chain FLM.
  • Inform the Supply Chain FLM of any adjustments, ensuring that any actions that needs to be taken is authorised by the Supply Chain FLM
  • Random spreading checks, investigate any spreading errors, ensuring standards of work are acceptable and that products are assembled in the baskets correctly using block picking.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping throughout the shift, ensuring that the areas are always left clean and tidy.
  • To be an active member of the despatch team.
  • Work with Pre-Despatchers and Supply Chain FLM’s on site to ensure shared responsibility for delivering all KPIs and targets.
  • Need to be able to work any shift within the warehouse at short notice.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must be flexible and able to change shifts at short notice
  • Basic numeracy and literacy essential to the job.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A good sense of the importance of good customer service
  • Knowledge and experience of short shelf life products and daily delivery operation
  • IT Literate
  • Safety Awareness
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Flexible
  • Good Attitude

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience of a similar role
  • Relevant warehouse experience

 

As a Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative you will be called upon to support/cover various roles within the warehouse, as well as flexible support to all warehouse departments and roles, this includes order picking, decanting of products, trays & banks, loading/unloading of vehicles, the list is not exhaustive. Start and finish times for these roles may  vary from your contractual role.

 

Location:  Based in Avonmouth, Bristol

Type of role: Full Time, Permanent

Reporting to: Supply Chain FLM

Closing Date:  several roles available, advert will be removed once positions have been filled.  

Shift Work:- 4 on 4 off shift pattern, current shifts available are 14:00-01:00 and 17:00-04:00

Salary:- £24,895 per annum
