The role:


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a  Relief Van Sales person to join the team, to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery. We are looking for a Relief Van Sales person to deliver HR plans that support the delivery of business strategy through maximising the organisation's capability and resource and ensuring quality is at the heart of everything we do.


Working with the wider Hovis team , some of the key accountabilities include;


  • Pre-journey checks – It is important that enough time is allowed for checking vehicles prior to the commencement of all journeys as detailed in the driver handbook.   The Company recognises that checks are crucial and health and safety comes first. 


  • Self Presentation - As representatives of the company whilst driving on the public highway and interacting with customers, all drivers will present themselves in uniform and be of smart, clean and presentable appearance.


  • Route Timeliness – Drivers are expected to complete the route profile with an efficient, careful and courteous driving style according to nominal route timings allocated to ensure on time customer deliveries.Tachograph and working time laws take priority and all breaks requirements must be adhered to.


  • Sales Performance – The convenience sector is serviced via a Van Sales operation and underpinned by a commercial strategy with various supporting driver KPI’s e.g. core range listing, product stock out, sales maximisation, point of sale / off shelf displays, etc.


The ideal candidate will be one that is passionate not only about the work they do but the brand they work for, takes ownership of what they do, and is able to influence multiple stakeholders in the right way. They will also be able to focus individuals on specific tasks and behaviours, by bringing a positive, encouraging and consistent behaviour and are able to create a compelling story for the future as well as role model the Hovis Leadership Standards.



Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:



  • Full Clean Driving Licence 
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Driving  Licence Category C1
  • CPC card
  • Digital tachogragh card



  • Driving Licence Category C
