The role:


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced FP&A Manager to join the team, to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery.

Hovis is a Private Equity owned business that has grown for the last 5 years (EBITDA & Cashflow) and is expected to grow significantly over the next few years. The FP&A function is essential to plan and ensure the business plan is achieved / exceeded. This role is vital in ensuring future success.

Working with the Finance and wider Hovis teams, some of the key accountabilities include;

  • To support the FP&A Director in providing the insight and recommendations to drive business growth and meet active plans.
  • The FP&A team will carry out or seek out relevant analysis from inside and outside the business to really understand how the business is performing and more importantly what can be done to improve
  • As a support function supporting the whole business from the Board, Executive and various functions within the business, the FP&A team needs to be deep rooted in the business.
  • Knowing how the business works inside out and where to go for insight and answers to the questions that FP&A know need answering. The FP&A team needs to be versatile and extremely well networked to make this happen.
  • This role will network with other FP&A functions – Commercial, Supply Chain and SG&A. A working knowledge of these areas is essential.
  • The role will also be a senior member of the finance function overall, where we act as a single team ensuring controls are maintained and that the overall finance function delivers on its commitments.



Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:



  • Qualified Accountant with over 3 years PQE in an FMCG business – FP&A, Commercial or Supply Chain Finance background preferred
  • Proven track record of affecting change and business partnering effectively
  • Team player with “can do” attitude
  •  Attention to detail – right first time
  •   Inquisitive and naturally wants to understand how the business works – go see to deeply understand
  • Demonstrated influencer / challenger
  • Well organised and a natural planner
  • Good communication skills – including presentation skills
  • Networker – able to work effectively with staff in all areas of the business
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Able to comply with tight deadlines



  • SAP / BOBJ systems experience desirable
  • Able to work with databases effectively
