We are looking to bring a new investment engineer onto our team who will be looking after the implementation of Capital expenditure programme through delivery of Engineering projects across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites ensuring installations meet all legal, safety, time, and cost requirements.

 You will see your responsibilities include

  • Engaging with site and central teams to identify, specify and deliver capital applications in line with investment plan.
  • Managing project expenditure in line with grn and cash forecasts
  • Managing / controlling of contractors through project implementation on site
  • Reporting project progress to key stakeholders
  • Engaging with site and central resources to ensure project proposals are in line with all legislative and Hovis requirements


The successful investment engineer will have had experience managing projects in an FMCG environment and will be adept at developing processes for NPD and cost reduction. You will be working with the entire Hovis team to implement investment projects according to different sites’ capabilities, quality requirements, investment plans, and engineering standards. 

We are looking for someone to drive us into the next stage of development within the Hovis Group and manage projects in line with Capital Expenditure programme and Business Strategy, taking into account specification, performance, and forecast benefits under strict time and cost constraints.

Ideal experiences / Qualifications / capabilities:


  • Recognised engineering qualifications and focused on investment delivery
  • Knowledge of the key principles required to  improve plant performance and operational performance
  • Project Management experience in FMCG environment
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Highly IT literate
  • Demonstration of taking ownership of the agenda and making it happen
  • Experience of operating in a multi-site environment
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Familiarity with MS Project
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
