The role:

 

Directly support the Senior Supply Chain Finance Manager in managing the reporting and forecasting processes within the logistics and third-party logistics operations. Supporting the cost agenda within the logistics business directorate. The Finance Analyst will support the Site Operational teams to create value through insight and analysis.

 

Business Partnering:

 

  • Works closely with site operational teams to drive performance through insight and analysis.
  • Partner the logistics projects team, providing necessary financial inputs when required.
  • Communicate with the operational teams, building strong relationships and cross-functional working.

 

Analytics:

 

  • Provide insight and analysis for the weekly flash and monthly reporting.
  • Provide relevant financial insight on KPI analysis and labour utilisation.
  • Analyse data sets to measure and asses risks and opportunities for the logistics function.

 

Communication:

 

  • Analyse and effectively communicate the spend position and how it can be managed efficiently and effectively to key stakeholders.
  • Ability and confidence to discuss and present financial results to non-finance stakeholders.

 

Financial Planning and Reporting:

 

  • Timely Reporting and financial variance analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in finance management, able to review and report on balance sheet and P&L activity drivers.
  • Recognises value of performance in how it impacts financials, builds flexible finance performance modelling to show opportunity across supply chain end to end.

 

Accounting:

 

  • Making sure that the monthly accounts reflect an accurate view of performance
  • Provide financial control with all relevant backup required during the monthly accounting cycle
  • Ensure all monthly journals are accurate and auditable
  • Balance sheet reconciliations

Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:

 

Essential:

 

  • Part qualified/studying towards accountancy qualification – ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA.
  • Good analytical skills, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the bigger picture.
  • A real attention to detail and a commitment to deliver a high level of accuracy.
  • Site based experience is preferable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines.
  • Integrity and honesty.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel to sites when required.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Have worked within a finance supply chain role previously.
  • FMCG or manufacturing environment experience desirable.
