The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional HR Manager to join the team, to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery. We are looking for a Regional HR Manager to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of delivering the best quality product every day and becoming a sustainable growing business that creates superior value for its stakeholders.  Supporting the delivery of business strategy together with designing and implementing HR plans that enable achievement of the supply chain strategy, ensuring quality is at the heart of everything we do. 

Working with the HR and central support teams, some of the key accountabilities include;

 

  • Drive HR excellence and process efficiency in all  HR activity 
  • Support the design and implementation of HR strategies to deliver best practice HR excellence to support the delivery of business goals. Ensure consistency and added value HR support. 
  • Develop and deliver national/local strategies to modernise and simplify reward structures, and that support the creation of a performance culture
  • Establish and maintain productive, value-adding Employee and Trade Union relations and employment practices (local and national) that deliver “best in class” productivity, service, quality, cost and continuous improvement
  • Maintain nationally based HR Reporting to control HR performance and benchmark best practice
  • Ensure KPI targets are met against core measures. Ensure no local variances to national reporting.
  • Be a visible role model, straightforward, driven, courageous and inspiring leader
  • Maintain Performance Management & Employee Review System, supported by ongoing training, coaching and guidance.
  • Build effective, high performing and skilled teams, recognising, rewarding and developing the high performers and managing poor performers.

 

The ideal candidate will be one that is passionate not only about the work they do but the brand they work for, takes ownership of what they do and is able to influence multiple stakeholders in the right way. They will also be able to focus individuals on specific tasks and behaviours, by bringing a positive, encouraging and consistent behaviour and are able to create a compelling story for the future as well as role model the Hovis Leadership Standards.


Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:

  • Graduate / CIPD qualified
  • Experience in an FMCG environment, ideally manufacturing of food
  • Tested employee relations experience and strong knowledge of employment law
  • Performance management techniques
  • Resourcing experience at all levels
  • A strong business, commercial and financial acumen
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and persuade
  • Results orientation, resilient and highly motivated
