The role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager - Accounting and Treasury to join
the dynamic finance team at Hovis HQ in High Wycombe.


Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead a team of 5 and will be responsible for a broad
range of duties across Accounting and Treasury, while helping to maintain a strong internal control
environment. Your accountabilities will include leading the annual statutory reporting process and
audit, management of period close process, management of the Treasury / cash operational and
forecasting processes and general business support.


There will be regular opportunities to be involved in project work, with significant exposure to the
Finance Director, the rest of the Executive team and other Senior Leaders of business.
You will lead the cash process for the business, working with Accounts Receivable and Accounts
Payable and other areas of finance to ensure that cash receipts and payments are well managed,
and that short and longer term cash forecasting is robust - a critical role of finance in a SME Private
Equity backed FMCG business.


As the most senior member of the Financial Control team, you will support the Financial Controller
on wider team and finance matters.

integral and trusted part of the Hovis business and we will be looking for a collaborative, positive
and energetic individual to join our friendly and supportive team.


Key Accountabilities:


● Lead and develop the Accounting and Treasury teams, providing technical support to the
rest of finance and the rest of the business.
● Manage the period close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly
financial statements and delivery of cashflow Board reporting.

● Lead the interim and annual statutory audit, including the preparation of the statutory
accounts for each of the Hovis entities under IFRS
● Own relationship between the company and all banking & Invoice discounting partners to
meet to ensure that proper information is maintained
● Leads the delivery of Corporation Tax and VAT returns, supported by 3rd party tax advisors.
(3rd party advisor prepares the Corporation Tax computations with the support and review
of the Hovis finance team)
● Lead the balance sheet assurance processes
● Responsible for Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecasting, liaising with the Director of FP&A
and Finance Director.
● Control the Group Invoice Discounting Programme ensuring all the programme
requirements are delivered in line with contracts, including maximising funding, managing
triggers to ensure no breaches and delivering reporting requirements.
● Lead and deliver the 13 week cash flow forecasts and drive the necessary actions to ensure
the business actively manages its cash requirements and that forecast accuracy is
maintained


Experience:


- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA preferred) Minimum 2 years Post Qualified Experience
- Management of qualified and non-qualified finance colleagues
- Strong technical knowledge and experience of IFRS
- Experience in creating and/or reviewing UK statutory accounts
- Experience in managing month end / year end close process.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload in order deliver high quality
work to tight deadlines
- Credibility to liaise with senior leadership teams
