We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the Nottingham Logistics function as a Team Leader.

 

We are looking for the right person to support the FLM in every aspect of the operation by managing and organising a diverse team of Distribution personnel including Drivers and Warehouse Operative.  Our sole aim is to consistently and efficiently meet order-fill requirements in line with the agreed client loading and delivery schedule “In Time, On Time, In Full” and within agreed budget levels.  In addition, you will be responsible for managing the team in a way that supports the Company’s ethos on Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and high working standards.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work closely with your team, utilising their abilities and consistently driving them to achieve all targets and KPIs using engaging and coaching behaviours.
  • Monitor Health & Safety compliance within the function, ensuring that safety is paramount and that unsafe behaviour is discouraged.
  • Ensure compliance with all business systems including SAP, PTL, T&T,PM3, BOBJ, Microlise and Tachomaster.
  • Monitor the daily return of all documentation associated with Logistics Primary/Radial and Despatch functions.
  • Ensure the compliance of all Company policies, procedures, processes and systems applicable to the function.
  • Ensure that SOPs and SSOW are applied and that all MHE and associated activities are “fit for purpose”.
  • Allocate and arrange staffing cover as necessary to suit departmental needs.
  • Deal with ad-hoc journeys efficiently to resolve any unplanned or unscheduled requirements.
  • Ensure employees hours and agency costs are correct and issued at a time agreed with the appropriate Manager.
  • Carry out all necessary compliance checks to ensure drivers work within Tachograph Working Time Regulation legislation and deal quickly and effectively with any infringements (DCRS).
  • Partake in route / schedule planning and PM3 analysis.
  • Collate daily KPI targets.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Primary/Radial routes and Warehouse.
  • Deputise for the First Line Manager as and when required.
  • Maintain all aspects of customer service levels throughout the operation, with particular focus on “On Time, In Full, Every time” order availability.

Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:

 

Essential:

  • Experience in previous supervisory role
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to quickly adapt to the use of unfamiliar or in-house systems
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Be adaptable, flexible and demonstrate a willingness to accept changes/resolve issues in accordance with operational requirements at short notice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and persuade
  • Resilient, highly motivated and enthusiastic

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Logistics Manufacturing environment (experience of HACCAP, Food Safety and Health & Safety legislative requirements).
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems (with experience of PM3, T&T, PTL,BOBJ,Microlise and Tachomaster).
  • IOSH
  • ILM L2/ILM L3
