A great opportunity has arisen at Hovis for a Manufacturing  Manager to lead, develop and manage the Supply Chain (including incoming materials), Engineering Disciplinary and grievance hearing management. You will be responsible for efficient and effective production in line with the site plan and key business performance indicators and engineering plan.


  • Disciplinary and grievance hearing management

  • Develop a robust materials procurement process to deliver a JIT solution for all elements of the BOMs.

  • Ensure all reactive work is recorded and trended to allow an analysis of plant defects and to identify permanent solutions to the issues logged.


Ideal experiences / Qualifications / capabilities:


  • Food Technology Degree Qualified.

  • Experience in FMCG Manufacturing business

  • Experience within the Baking Industry with some Engineering experience

  • Experience in managing a multi-discipline FMCG Manufacturing Site

  • Experience in managing large scale Change programmes

  • Knowledge of legislation governing Food Compliance, Employment, Health and Safety and other related topics

  • Inspirational Leader

  • Champion of engagement through leading and coaching

  • Ability to support and liaise with all SLT roles

  • Must have excellent budgetary control, work within the constraints of the business and create realistic improvements

  • Seeks out and shares best practices across the business

  • Ability to switch easily between focusing on the long term and resolving issues that need action today

  • Considers the whole site when planning and coordinating the use of resources to achieve long term goals

  • Ensures that their team of direct reports develop their management behaviours and skills as well as their technical skills

  • Effective team builder within own site and across the business network
