At Hovis Mitcham (Sebon) an exciting opportunity has recently arisen for an Engineering First Line Manager with extensive knowledge in line management and leading a team to join this hugely respected, household-name company. As one of two Engineering First Line Managers, you will be leading a team of electrical, mechanical and multi-skilled engineers and you will have the chance to manage the engineering function in which you will improve productivity and practices. This is a brilliant opportunity for an Engineering Leader who is looking to work for a great company that makes fantastic bread and rolls. You will be taking lead on interesting capacity and improvement projects along with the personal development of each team member. 

 

Role Purpose: 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, effectively managing Engineering Resources to deliver on all maintenance, equipment repairs, site projects and continuous improvement.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

 

Essential:

  • Recognised Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification. City & Guilds minimum.
  • Proven track record of Front Line Management within an FMCG environment.
  • Thorough understanding of PPM techniques.
  • Strong desire to develop and coach team performance.
  • Working knowledge of Legislative standards within the FMCG environment.
  • High level of numeracy and ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to produce detailed Engineering and Process Risk assessments

 

 

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing systems experience.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Management of financial budgets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Idhammar programs.
  • Working knowledge of improvement techniques used to maximise and optimise bakery plant performance and equipment.
  • Ability to produce detailed Engineering and Process Risk assessments
  • Extensive PLC/Controls knowledge
