A great opportunity has arisen at Hovis, Mitcham.  We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to play a key role in supporting Technical Team at Mitcham Site.

 

Sebon Bakery is considered as a craft bakery. The bakery has three lines producing a mix of bread & morning goods on 2 bread plants, & 1 roll line, producing customer branded products as well as Hovis Bakery Products.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Carry out internal audits and routine food safety inspections
  • Conduct the site traceability exercises
  • Carry out daily taste sessions (Hovis Quality Evaluation)
  • Managing Product quality Standards, from identifying the quality standards to ensuring the factory implements them
  • Managing raw material non-conformances
  • Liaising with supplier and raising derogations for ingredients shelf life when necessary
  • Arranging sample collection and despatch – Finished Product, Raw Materials and Micro
  • Managing raw materials and packaging documentation
  • Involvement in preparing for BRC and customers audits
  • Deliver continuous improvement of both product quality and standards on site.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

 

Essential

 

  • Degree qualified (industry Technical experience will be considered in lieu of qualifications)
  • Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles
  • Posses good communication skills both written and verbal and must be computer literate.
  • Ability to influence & challenge
  • Committed to incorporating the Hovis values of Quality, Accountability and Trust in day to day functions.

 

Desirable

 

  • Customer facing experience
  • Bakery industry experience
  • Experience with retailers and 3rd party audit/BRC standards
  • HACCP qualification
  • Internal audit training

 

Location: Based in Mitcham
