A position for a Quality Assurance technician has opened up at Hovis Ltd, Mitcham.



  • Carry out internal audits and routine Food Safety inspections 
  • Conduct the site traceability exercises
  • Carry out daily taster sessions (Hovis Quality Evaluation)
  • Managing Product quality Standards, from identifying the quality standards to ensuring the factory implements them
  • Managing raw material non-conformances 
  • Liaising with the supplier and raising derogations for ingredients shelf life when necessary
  • Arranging sample collection and despatch – Finished Product, Raw Materials and Micro
  • Managing raw materials and packaging documentation
  • Involvement in preparing for BRC and customers audits
  • Deliver continuous improvement of both product quality and standards on site.




  • Degree qualified (industry Technical experience will be considered in lieu of qualifications)
  • Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles 
  • Possesses good communication skills both written and verbal and must be computer literate.

  • Customer-facing experience
  • Bakery industry experience
  • Experience with retailers and 3rd party audit/BRC standards
  • HACCP qualification
  • Experience of working in a Food manufacturing environment
  • Internal audit training
