An opportunity exists for an electrically biased engineer to join the team at Rank Hovis Wellingborough, Flour Mills. This day shift role ( with call out) requires the successful candidate to work in a modern food manufacturing environment as part of a small team of highly skilled engineers ( both direct and indirect) providing the routine maintenance and breakdown cover required to deliver production availability 24/7.

 

The plant has seen significant investment over the last 10 years and delivers reliability performance to 97% unplanned downtime. The key priorities on site are Health and Safety , Food Safety , Quality and Customer Service. Whilst a multi skilled role the main skill areas are - Fully Qualified Electrician with a desirable knowledge of a modern process control scada system.

 

The main tasks relate to electrical and control activities with support as required provided to the embedded mechanical contractors team. The total team consists of 2 electrical and 3 mechanical ( contractors) engineers who provide the maintenance service Mon to Fri to meet the business targets and goals. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work in co-operation with the production and engineering teams/ contractors in ensuring that all plant is operating efficiently and providing optimum performance
  • To be aware of and to implement all Company and Site Process and Engineering Standards.  Any failures/requests for concessions to be reported to the Management Team.
  • To contribute to the control of the site engineering spares policy in conjunction with the engineering teams / contractors.
  • To ensure all corrective maintenance requirements are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.  Communication of progress to the relevant personnel is essential
  • Contribute to improvement, compliance and awareness of Health and Safety, Environmental and Hygiene standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including Health and Safety, Environmental, Hygiene, Food Safety, HACCP , BRC. 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

 

  • Multi-skilled engineering qualification (To be trained and assessed)
  • Competent workshop technician
  • Core Electrical / Mechanical Qualification
  • 17th and 18th Edition / Electrical Qualification
  • P.C. Skills
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems
  • P.L.C Diagnostics and Software modifications.
  • Maintenance of the P.L.C. network.
  • To be a good communicator, able to build effective relations internally at all levels.
  • Be a team player
  • To be flexible, willing and have a positive approach to changing circumstances.
