A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi skilled engineer and team player  to join our engineering team at Hovis Wellingborough to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery. We are looking for a Multi skilled engineer to work with and fully as part of our team to deliver world class reliability that supports the delivery of business strategy through maximising the organisation's capability and resource and ensuring quality is at the heart of everything we do.


Working within and as part of the engineering team with accountabilities and responsibilities for;

  • Supporting engineering teams to deliver 98% OEE and unplanned downtime <2.5%
  • Provide expert knowledge across mechanical, electrical and control engineering
  • To work alongside and in cooperation with production teams and contractors ensuring consistent OEE excellence
  • To assist and support the sites investment plans and projects
  • Operate to deliver full compliance in all safety, food safety and legislative areas relevant to Hovis and its customers operations. 
  • Provide a timely and effective response and resolution to all plant breakdowns.
  • Contribute to the completion of the sites planned maintenance regimes to support OEE excellence 
  • Delivery of collaborative working practices that deliver continuous improvement in all areas of site operations
  • Ensuring simplification and simplicity in approach, to enable effective focus and delivery of business objectives
  • Supporting all central and support programmes to deliver best in class performance
  • Support of the Hovis Apprenticeship programme
  • Being a team player

Ideal Qualifications: 

  • Recognised Multi Skilled Qualifications ( Mechanical- Electrical- Controls)
  • 18th Edition Electrical qualification
  • Competent workshop technician
  • Experience in front line control diagnostics
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems
  • Be a team player
  • Be a good communicator
  • Be able to manage own time effectively
  • Receptive to new training and skills
  • Track record of achieving operational goals 
  • Recognised health and safety qualification
  • Experience in FMCG – ideally manufacturing and food
  • Formal welding qualification
  • Formal Engineering qualification
  • Formal Allan Bradly Scade control qualification
  • Experience in a Flour Milling or feed milling operation
  • Environmental awareness
  • PAT testing competency
  • IOSH safety qualification
